ERIC'S BENCHREST PAGE

My main shooting interest is in benchrest  shooting.

There is no greater feeling than when you shoot a tiny five shot group.

More information about targets can be found on my targets page

WHAT IS BENCHREST

Tikka 595 in .308 heavy barrelled Master Continental rifle with a Bausch and Lomb 10x40 Tactical 4000 Elite riflescope with Tikka mounts.

Remington 40 BX BRKS  in 7mm Remington magnum with a stainless steel heavy barrel complete with a Leupold 8.5-25x50 riflescope and mounts.

Many people who have never shot Benchrest cant understand a shooting sport that lets you rest the gun. When you tell them that the bulls eye doesn't mean anything they just shake their heads mumble and walk away. They do not understand that we are trying to put 5 bullets through the same exact  hole and they don't see a small breeze or a 5mph wind pushing a bullet out. Our sport measures the hole or holes at there biggest spread with a micrometer then the thickness of one bullet is subtracted, this then gives you the size of the group centre to centre.

Benchrest shooting is a sport that demands the most from its shooters and equipment. A Benchrest rifle and load is at the cutting edge of technology, there is no more accurate combination in the world. In Benchrest winners and losers may only separated by a few thousands of an inch.
